Torrent Safety Services

Torrent Safety Services is a division of Torrent Silviculture. It boasts a large fleet of MTCs (Mobile Treatment Centres) attached to 2020 or newer 4×4 off-road capable trucks. All units are equipped with VHF radio and satellite communication, meeting the requirements set out by Transport Canada's regulations for ambulatory service.

Who We Serve

We provide on-site services and safety solutions for clients including:

  • Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure
  • Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations – BC Wildfire Service
  • Forest licensees and contractors throughout Central Interior BC
  • Northern British Columbia resource operations

Our safety services span throughout the Central Interior and Northern British Columbia. For the last several years we have been the largest contract medic company in British Columbia supporting BC Wildfires.

Torrent holds SAFE certification, endorsed by the BC Forest Safety Council. All Torrent First Aid Attendants have a minimum of an OFA Level 3 qualification, and are trained in both minor wound care and major trauma life-saving interventions, including CPR and AED use.

Our Capabilities

Fleet & Equipment

  • 2020 or newer 4×4 off-road capable trucks with full MTC outfitting
  • VHF road radios for crew and dispatch communication
  • Satellite communication devices on all units
  • Fully stocked first aid and trauma supplies on every unit

Personnel Qualifications

  • OFA Level 3 certification — minimum qualification for all attendants
  • CPR and AED trained
  • Resource road and backroad driving trained
  • VHF radio operation certified
  • Trained in all required field paperwork and documentation
  • Exceed all provincial standards set out by WorkSafe BC
