Torrent Silviculture offers Wildfire Fighting work across British Columbia. The volume of this work is predicated on the severity of the fire season — in busy years, our crews are deployed province-wide supporting BC Wildfire Service operations.
We offer spots on Type 3 Contracting crews, and work province wide. Our experienced, safety-trained workforce transitions seamlessly between planting and fire seasons, bringing the same discipline and commitment to both.

Type 3 contract crews are hand crews deployed by the BC Wildfire Service to assist in initial attack and extended attack operations on wildfires. Our crews are trained, equipped, and ready to respond when called. Work can include:
Fire season in BC typically runs June through September, often overlapping directly with tree planting season. This overlap creates a natural pathway for Torrent employees to transition between programs with minimal downtime.

A valid Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 certificate is recommended. Physical fitness is essential — fire work is demanding and fast-paced.
